ALIGNING WITH PARTNERS WHO BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE
When you are busy and successful, it seems there is no shortage of people, companies, and brands eager to hitch their wagon to your star.
Today, I find myself having to do my due diligence when it comes to emails and phone calls I receive. Not everyone is aligned with my business philosophy; so, I do let them know, that their product or service isn't right for me. No one likes to be told, no; but, at least both parties know where they stand.
I am sure you have heard the horror stories from your friends, neighbors, colleagues, and family about contractors. Now, I want to introduce you to Treeium.
Last summer, I received a call from them, that they would like to collaborate with me on projects. I began my research about the company.
There IT was on their landing page. The words that jumped off the screen and touched me in my head and my heart. This was a contractor that was speaking my language.
"Start your #Change4better at home. When we change something, we expect to improve it. If we transform our home, we expect to make it better. Positive change needs to be in harmony with our health, with nature, and our future. Make your home improvement project a real improvement… a change for better."
Philanthropy has always been important to me when deciding which companies I support with my business. I find my clients find value in giving back with their investments.
Treeium has always been committed to making this world a better place to live. They are always looking for new ways to make a change for the better. That’s why they launched the #TreeiumGivesBack campaign. Their goal is to provide FREE remodels to the people that need them the most. HELLO! This hit me in the heart, and I hope to partner with them on their next remodel donating my design services to someone who needs them and will be grateful for a new life that enhances their health and well-being.
It doesn't stop there. There is more!
For every job they complete, they plant a tree. They have partnered with TreePeople, an environmental nonprofit that unites the power of trees, people, and nature-based solutions to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles. For 40 years, TreePeople has supported the people of Los Angeles to grow the urban forest by providing sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems through: environmental education; forestry program demonstration projects; and policy outreach.
I wanted to know more about this contractor and what made them different. There is plenty of information on their website, that statistically shows they are great at all aspects of new construction and remodeling. Sure, they have a great remodelers comparison chart. Sure, they have all four and five star reviews across multiple channels. I needed to dig deeper to find out how they were going to improve the process, make it better, positive changes, benefit health, benefit nature, and benefit our future. How were they a change for the better?
Then, I learned about how they work. It is completely different than any other contractor I have worked with in the past, and it aligns with my philosophy of: transparency; efficiency; collaboration with the contractor; communicating to the client; deadlines; and budget.
If you want, they can install cameras on your project, which means you can be at work or vacationing in the South of France checking in on your project from their app. No need for you to be at home to manage them or stressing about what is going on when you are not present. You have enough to worry about, let them ease your fears.
I am all about streamlining the process and working in an efficient manner. In the past, I have worked with contractors that hire subcontractors. It is a pretty typical way of working. The only problem I have encountered, is there are days when one of their subcontractors does not show up for work on your project. This means, we have lost a whole day of work. Inevitably, this means the other trades are pushed back and so is the timeline for completion. Think about it! For example, if you are working on a job that is supposed to be three months to complete and someone misses one day every week; that is 12 or more business days that your project is further behind. NOT at Treeium. What impressed me the most is ALL their subcontractors are employees of Treeium. So, if the plumber is sick that day, there will be another one taking his place. This means there is no delay in your project.
It always disturbed me when I would have to tell a client that their project was delayed. Typically, the clients had moved out of their space or where waiting to move into their space. Often times, they had spent extra money on rent to not have to live in a construction zone. These delays cost them more money and happiness.
Many times when you are doing a remodeling project, you might want to move a wall or open up adjoining spaces. This used to take another significant effort to contact a structural engineer to produce drawings and give the stamp of approval to move forward. Guess what? Treeium has one on staff!
I know you are busy and don't have time to always be meeting with your contractor. Well, problem solved. They actually have an online client portal that you can access from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day and seven days a week. You can access all your project information, communicate with you project manager, sign documents, and even pay online. How great is that?
If you are like me, we work in a deadline driven business. We want something completed when promised. Well, Treeium can certainly help you with that. They provide a timeline for completion of your project with all the steps along the way, so you never have to guess what is happening next and when it will be complete. Working with their project managers, I can attest that they realistically know how long a project is going to take after I have given them the completed space plan, lighting design, and all the other important aspects of your design project. Our goal is to give you outstanding quality, craftsmanship, and service - ON TIME!
Let's talk money. Have you ever had the experience of hiring a contractor that submits a budget for completion of your project based on the agreed scope of work. Somewhere along the way, they ask for more money to complete the project for whatever reason. I hate when this happens. It always leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth. You are forced to pay them, because you want your project complete. With Treeium, this isn't the case. Their project managers and estimators strategically prepare the budget based on the scope of work with a total amount to complete the project. They are never going to come back and ask for more money - unless you make changes or additions to the project. Isn't that a relief?
Contractors are an integral part of the new construction or remodeling of your home, your office, our your next hospitality, retail, or commercial endeavor. I have collaborated with many contractors - from a one-man show to large conglomerates - managing the new construction or remodeling of everything from a bathroom to an $91 million dollar hotel.
I am happy to announce that I have successfully worked with Treeium and stand behind their words and actions.
I will be referring them to my clients for all their future projects.
