Every once in a while, there comes a time when you just need to make changes around the house. Especially in the bathroom, certain style trends and fads fade and your current décor can become old and outdated fairly quickly. You don't have to spend a lot of time or a lot of money to upgrade your bathroom and give it a new look. There are many ways to change your bathroom without a complete renovation.
It's true what they say; a little color goes a long way. You might be amazed at how much a new coat of paint can really change the look of your bathroom.
The best part about paint is that it can be changed fairly often. While Tiffany Blue might be popular today, in a couple of years Lavender might be the go-to shade. A fresh coat of paint is pretty inexpensive, especially when compared to costly renovations, and only takes a day or so to complete.
If you aren't looking forward to making changes every few years or so, stick to a safe color that will go with any décor scheme. Choosing a neutral color can give your bathroom a clean look, and your decorative items can be rotated to make a change without ever needing to worry about the paint clashing.
To make a space feel new, changing your decorative theme gives a space an entirely different look and feel. There is no room in the home where this is easier than in the bathroom. A few decorative items and coordinating hand towels can turn your bathroom into an entirely new place.
Pack up those old silk floral bouquets and bring in the beach with colorful shells, starfish, and jars filled with colorful sand. Turn your space into a luxurious hideaway with aromatherapy candles and relaxing landscape photographs. Or, transform your ordinary bathroom into a posh powder room with pillows, fancy perfume bottles, and Hollywood style vanity lights.
When decorating your bathroom, don't let your wall space go to waste. Hanging pictures that coordinate with your décor theme can give your bathroom a whole new look. Imagine a sprawling beach with crystal blue waters or a lighthouse for your beach themed décor, or a beautiful pouting photo of a Hollywood starlet in your powder room.
Your walls can also help you make your space seem bigger. Some well placed mirrors can help to deceive the eye and make a small room seem much larger.
To truly change the look of your bathroom, you can make changes to your furniture without making total replacements.
Just changing out the countertops can give the room a whole new vibe. Or, for a cheaper and possibly easier countertop upgrade, look for epoxy countertop coatings. These innovative overlays give the look and feel of brand new countertops by simply pouring material over the existing countertops to give them a brand new finish.
When making changes to improve the look and atmosphere of your bathroom, little changes go a long way. Small things, such as the hardware on your cabinets, can give your bathroom furniture a whole new life.
Your fixtures, faucets, handles, and other small bits and pieces can all be upgraded simply and inexpensively. Just imagine how bright and new your bathroom could look if you replaced all of your old and tarnished fixtures with clean brushed nickel or bright chrome.
With small changes such as these, you can make a big difference. Change the way your bathroom looks without renovating or spending a lot of money.
